Good morning all..
Our family had bad news friday night,My nephew and great nephew along with some of his friends were 4 wheeler riding friday night and an oncoming car ran into them while crossing the road.My 21 year old nephew was dead by the time it was over and our 3 year old great nephew is in critical condition at sacred hearts in pensecola fl.More and more people are using cheaper ways of going when they want to go somewhere.We live in a rural-semi rural area.The store is not but about 2 miles from their house.They decided they wanted some drinks and gas ,and in trade of riding trucks they took the 4 wheelers.Staying completely safe and off to the side of the road until directly in front of the store.His friend crossed and moments later they started when a car in excessive amount of speed came around the curve ,hit the brakes and slid right into them still in excess of 50 mph…..
No one watches out for motorcycles and 4 wheelers and the such.I have said this for years,ever since my son,then 14 ,was hit head on by a 17 year old speeding thru town.I see this rising now very quickly.With gas prices rising daily,i see more and more other forms of travel on the roads.From horseback riding(which is still legal here as long as you have ”poop bag” with you,golf carts,dune buggies,4 wheelers,bicycles…more and more of our kids and adults alike i am afraid are going to become statistics in this gas price war …
People i can not ask enough to pay attention when you are on the roadways.Expeciall when you are traveling through small towns and communities.A lot of these areas contain large numbers of young people and adults alike who are using them now.When you come into sommunities on your travel and stores are nearby ,please watch at the crossings.It is not too much to ask to slow down a little ,and expecially speeding,while in these areas that are a high risk of you seeing smaller vehicles on the road…
In cases just like my nephew,,witnesses said they did everything as they should,,Were completely off the road ,way to the side.Driving correctly ,stopped and waited for a vehicle to go by,crossed one at a time,and when the last started a speeder hit them ..Had thedriver of the car not been speeding so excessively they still would not have slammed into them..When the car braked it went for them on the other side of the road!They were almost across!!!!The impact was still so hard it threw them over 100 foot…he(dad) slid down the road mostly on his back with the baby held tighty in his arms until it killed him and he released the baby for the last 10 foot….
This could have been avoided….but instead ,,because of a wreckless driver in such a hurry to get where he was going,killed a 21 year old dad(hard working dad who took care of his family on his own -no help!) a 3 year old in serious condition at a hosp.-1 year old daughter with no daddy,and a 20 year old wife to raise these babies with no daddy….
IS IT REALLY WORTH THIS KIND OF COST TO ARRIVE SOMEWHERE 10 MINUTES SOONER?????
PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR OTHER DRIVERS PEOPLE…..BE COURTEOUS,,,,BEFORE YOU BECOME A STATISTIC…OR MAKE A CHILD MOTHERLESS OR FATHERLESS…….
